Friday Night: Date Night
After checking into your Havasu Lux Stays vacation rental, unpack, settle in, and let the weekend begin. Pour yourselves a few cold drinks or open a bottle of wine by the resort-style pool and spa.
We recommend making reservations at OXIDO, one of Lake Havasu City's newest restaurants. It’s chic and upscale, with creative Latin-inspired cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and an intimate vibe. We love it as a spot to celebrate a special occasion—or simply enjoy a great meal together on date night in Lake Havasu.
(We love the sweet corn tamales, roasted beet salad and their tacos wrapped in handmade, heirloom corn tortillas. We need to add OXIDO to our list of favorite Mexican restaurants!)
After dinner, take the scenic drive back to your vacation rental, pour a nightcap, and unwind in the spa or cozy up by the fire pit (many of our 20+ Lake Havasu luxury vacation rentals are equipped with both). Sometimes the best part of a weekend getaway is finally having nowhere else to be.
Saturday Morning: Coffee & a Scenic Paddle
Skip the alarm and enjoy a slow morning with fresh brewed coffee at home, or lattes and pastries from Wild Coffee, before heading to the lake. Getting out on the water early means cooler temperatures, fewer boats, and some of the prettiest views Lake Havasu has to offer.
For active couples looking to spend time together while also squeezing in a workout, you can rent a pair of paddleboards or kayaks from Western Arizona Canoe & Kayak Outfitters and explore the calm waters around Thompson Bay.
Saturday Afternoon: Relax Your Way
Whether you rent a pontoon boat, spend the afternoon floating in a quiet cove, or paddling through calm waters, there's no wrong way to enjoy Lake Havasu.
But be sure to leave plenty of room in the schedule for doing absolutely nothing—those unplanned moments often become the most memorable. Spend the afternoon back at your vacation rental lounging by the pool or reading in the shade. You can also try a couples massage for an afternoon of total relaxation. Saturday Evening: Sunset on the Water
No romantic trip to Lake Havasu is complete without experiencing sunset from the lake itself.
Book an evening cruise with Sunset Charter & Tour Co., where you'll watch the Arizona sky turn brilliant shades of orange and pink while cruising past the famous London Bridge. It's easily one of the most romantic experiences in Havasu.
Prefer to stay on land? One of the things we love most about Lake Havasu is staying in (no seriously, though!). There's something special about sharing a meal you've prepared together. Pick up a couple of beautiful steaks, fresh seafood, or the makings of a charcuterie board from a local market, uncork a bottle of wine, and fire up the grill. If your trip to Lake Havasu coincides with the local farmer’s market you can stop by there for some local produce.
As the sun sets over the desert mountains, enjoy dinner on the patio, followed by a soak in the spa or a quiet evening around the fire pit.
Sunday Morning: One Last Slow Morning
Before packing up, enjoy one last cup of coffee by the pool or on the patio. If you're not in a hurry, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Makai Café, a local favorite overlooking the water and the London Bridge with delicious Bloody Mary’s and mimosas. Grab a table outside, order a fresh breakfast and coffee, and soak in your last views of Lake Havasu.
